December 28, 2025 — Songwriter Arlene Roberts has released her new album, Once in a Lifetime Love, a richly textured collection of jazz and American Songbook–inspired songs that trace the full emotional arc of romance as it’s truly lived — from first glances and fleeting dreams to quiet devotion and hard-earned clarity.
Spanning twelve tracks, Once in a Lifetime Love blends classic swing, torch ballads, jazz waltz, and intimate late-night club moods, all anchored by Roberts’ gift for lyrical storytelling. These songs don’t chase fantasy — they honor experience. Each lyric is grounded in moments that feel real: promises made with hope, love discovered unexpectedly, illusions gently released, and connection finally recognized for what it is.
The album opens with the sweeping devotion of the title track and moves through a series of vivid emotional scenes — the wonder of High Flight – The Aviator’s Dream, the knowing wit of Pipe Dream and Happy Talk, the electric spark of Across a Crowded Room, and the sensual intimacy of Silk Sheets and Caviar Dreams and Firelight Spell. Later tracks such as It Is What It Is offer reflective acceptance, while Smooth Sailing and Captivated close the album with grace, warmth, and quiet surrender.
Musically, Once in a Lifetime Love draws deeply from the tradition of the Great American Songbook. Arrangements are elegant and unhurried, allowing melody and lyric to breathe — brushed drums, warm piano, upright bass, gentle horns, and smoky late-night textures that evoke classic jazz clubs without imitation.
