Description
Under a Flare Stack Sky – Songs from Oil Country is a cinematic five-song collection rooted in the hard soil and high stakes of West Texas oil country.
Inspired by modern television dramas that explore the world of land deals, drilling rigs, and the moral gray areas of boomtown life, this project steps into the dust rather than standing outside it. These songs don’t take sides — they tell stories.
From the generational pride of “Black Gold Blood” to the quiet kitchen-table tension of “Leases and Lies,” from the fence-line fracture of “Barrels and Barbed Wire” to the heavy burden carried in “West Texas Weight,” the EP closes the circle with “Flare Stack Sky,” a reflective look at progress, memory, and change beneath a burning horizon.
This is not a political record. It’s a human one.
Under a Flare Stack Sky captures the emotional landscape of oil country — the workers who power it, the families who depend on it, the land that bears it, and the unseen weight that lingers long after the rigs fall silent.
Five songs. One horizon. A flame against the night.
